People Are Freaking Out Over Three Alleged Sightings Of The Legendary Goatman

You may never have read about the Goatman, but he’s one urban legend that demands a horror movie. This hybrid creature has peppered popular culture since 1957 when it was first spotted in Maryland. American cryptid-spotters from all across the country have since reported sightings of a horned man with cloven hooves in Kentucky, Texas and Wisconsin. Like sightings of any paranormal myth, like Big Foot or The Loch Ness Monster, they’re pretty blurred and difficult to confirm their authenticity. But I suppose that’s all part of the fun.

Cult of Weird describes a sighting from Kentucky, where the Goatman is locally known as ‘The Pope Lick Monster’:
“A large humanoid creature with furry, goat-like legs, alabaster skin, wide-set eyes, and horns that protrude from greasy fur.”
We may never know for sure about who or what the Goatman is, but one thing we do know is that it’s not this guy who dressed up as a goat in Wasatch Mountains in Utah.

They found that Goatman-wannabe in 2012 in the Wasatch Mountains near Ogden, Utah, and his story spread across America.
Being a cynic, I’m not sure about any of this Goatman hype. But I do like the thought of there being weird stuff in this world that I’ll never fully understand.
Still, not convinced.
